By using GaavBaazar, you acknowledge that certain personal and listing-related information is required to provide a trusted local marketplace experience, improve platform quality, and meet legal or safety obligations in India.

Information We Collect

We collect information that users provide directly, information created through marketplace activity, and limited technical information needed to operate the platform reliably.

Depending on how you use GaavBaazar, the following categories of information may be collected:

  • Account information such as your name, mobile number, email address if provided, Google account identifier if you use Google sign-in, and profile photo if you upload one.
  • Location-related information such as village, taluka, district, state, pincode, and nearby-location inputs that help surface relevant local listings.
  • Device-permission-based location information where you choose to allow location access for nearby discovery or location selection features.
  • Listing information including title, description, price, category, condition, seller details, listing status, uploaded photos, and uploaded video where supported.
  • Marketplace interaction data such as favorites, reports, contact unlock activity, subscription status, subscription usage, and chat messages exchanged through the app.
  • Support, safety, and operational information such as complaint details, moderation actions, abuse-prevention signals, notification delivery tokens, device platform details related to push notifications, and limited technical logs needed to run the service reliably.

How We Use Information

GaavBaazar uses collected information to operate the marketplace, personalize nearby discovery, maintain trust signals, and support users throughout listing and buying journeys.

We process information in ways that are reasonably necessary for a local resale platform and proportionate to the service experience we provide.

  • Improve the marketplace experience through ranking, search relevance, fraud reduction, and product quality monitoring.
  • Show local listings and nearby recommendations that are more useful for villages, towns, and adjacent cities.
  • Operate account features such as login, profile management, favorites, chat, reporting, contact unlocks, and subscription-based limits or benefits.
  • Review, approve, reject, or moderate listings and user activity to maintain marketplace quality and safety.
  • Process or support subscription, order, payment, payment-verification, and manual payment review workflows where those features are offered.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse, suspicious behavior, duplicate listings, scams, and policy violations.
  • Provide customer support, dispute intake, complaint review, account recovery, safety communications, and service notifications such as listing approval, rejection, chat, or subscription-related updates.

Notifications

If you allow notifications on your device, GaavBaazar may use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) and related device token information to deliver service-related alerts such as listing approval or rejection updates, chat activity, account notices, subscription updates, and other important marketplace messages.

Notification permissions can be managed through your device settings. Turning notifications off may limit your ability to receive time-sensitive updates from the platform.

User Content

Listings, photos, profile details, and marketplace chat content may be visible to other users depending on how the platform is designed and whether a listing is approved for public display. Users should only upload or send content that they are comfortable sharing in a local commercial setting.

You remain responsible for the accuracy, legality, and ownership of the content you submit. GaavBaazar may review, remove, reject, restrict, or retain moderation records relating to content that appears misleading, unsafe, unlawful, infringing, abusive, or inconsistent with platform rules.

Cookies & Analytics

GaavBaazar may use cookies, local storage, and analytics technologies to keep sessions active, remember preferences, understand usage flows, and improve performance across browsers and devices.

These tools help us identify broken journeys, measure feature adoption, and reduce suspicious automated activity. Analytics data is typically reviewed in aggregate unless required for security or support investigation.

Third-Party Services

No internet-based platform can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect account credentials, avoid sharing OTPs or sensitive documents in chat unless specifically required, and report suspicious activity immediately.

Subject to applicable law and operational limitations, users may request access to their account information, ask for corrections, raise objections about certain uses, or request deletion of eligible information.

We may retain specific records where necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute handling, backup integrity, abuse investigation, payment review, or enforcement of marketplace safety controls.

Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their GaavBaazar account through the mobile app account settings or by contacting support where app access is unavailable. Deletion requests may involve verification checks to prevent unauthorized removal.

Following confirmed deletion, account access is removed and eligible active-use data is deleted or disabled. Certain marketplace records, complaint records, moderation history, fraud-prevention references, payment-review records, and transaction-related evidence may be retained for a limited period where required for legal, safety, anti-fraud, or operational reasons.
